I love the simplicity of these. Black and White can feel so timeless and classic. Her eyes are amazing too. No distractions just this gorgeous one year old baby girl.
I am sure you have seen these beautiful kids in my posts before. Their mom is one of my best friends. They are getting at such fun ages. It seems impossible that they are getting so old yet I am staying so young, ha! Funny how that works. Enjoy this post from last fall.
What a fun day I had at this families farm. I love going to new locations especially when they have meaning to the family. In the beginning we kind of talked how it would be cool to get the cows in the photos but didn’t think it was possible. Well we headed to the back of the property and with a few ears of corn and cattle calling they arrived. Talk about a challenge getting the cows in the right spot for composition purposes. It was perfect and entertaining. One of my favorite sessions last summer.
Another year has past and I had the pleasure of photographing this family last fall. We have done the family the first year and then just the girls for a few more years so it was time to update the family portrait in the home. When I first started my business (8 years ago) I did do yellow page advertising! Can you believe it? Well good thing because that is how they found me. We usually photograph in the summer and the last session we did in the fall was a memorable one. The littlest one was only 18 months lets just say we were not on the same page. A few days prior she had shots so I am thinking the whole new person, stranger thing was imbedded in her head. I would approach and she would scream instantly… the session went on and we tried to pull out all the tricks. I ended up getting one image with the 3 of them with her holding on to “blankie” and a bit red faced. The rest were of the two older ones. I knew not to push it because I didn’t her to have a more long term memory of the day. So the next year she was a bit older (probably doesn’t fully remember how it all went down the year before) and she comes right up to me and says “Miss Abby, I am not going to cry this year” We have been on the same page ever since. I always start with posed ones in the beginning and then at the end let them get a bit crazy. I look forward to them each and every year. This year they got a puppy so I am super excited for our session.
I spend a lot of time looking for new unique locations. It’s good to get out and explore. Funny thing is this awesome area is pretty much in my backyard and it is taken me 7 years to photograph there. So I think the saying “The best things are usually right under your nose” is really fitting. This family is so cute! Enjoy the love in all these photos.
