Giving Back

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Contributing to charities, events and organizations has always been important for Magdelena’s Photography.  Making a difference and giving back is something I always wanted to be a part of my business’s core values from day one. I am excited to announce that I will be focusing our future contributions to the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance this coming year. And guess what? You are going to be a part of this too! Why? Because I am taking a percentage of your portrait investment and donating it to this alliance to help fund research for this disease to ultimately unlock a cure for TSC. Together we will make a difference.

What is TSC?

Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a genetic disorder that causes non-malignant tumors to form in many different organs, primarily in the brain, eyes, heart, kidney, skin and lungs. The aspects of TSC that most strongly impact quality of life are generally associated with the brain: seizures, developmental delay, intellectual disability and autism. However, many people with TSC are living independent, healthy lives and enjoying challenging professions such as doctors, lawyers, educators and researchers.  The incidence and severity of the various aspects of TSC can vary widely between individuals—even between identical twins.

Why did I pick the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance?

Meet Kylie Rose. She is a beautiful, loving, inspiring 11 year old living with TSC. Kylie is the daughter to one of my best friends. Kylie was diagnosed at age 2. With the nature of this disease I have seen all the ups and downs and the progressions and regressions over the years. She is my “why”.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
